Vision Boards
September 2020
During our first cohort meeting during the Fall 2020 semester, we got the chance to reconnect with each other over Zoom and share about how we’d been doing and what we’d been making since the pandemic began in March. Patrick Benfield led us through an activity where we each made a Maker vision board. Using Google Slides, we each created and edited a slide for our vision board - this included things such as personal and career goals, hobbies, our Maker philosophy, and our vision for the school year.
Upon sharing our vision boards, I realized that mine was more heavily career and school focused than I intended. Though those are certainly important things, I’ve had a tendency in the past to not practice self-care or enjoy my hobbies due to an intense focus and worry about school and work. So, as I was working on my Maker showcase towards the end of the spring semester, I decided to make another vision board that reflected more accurately how my year went and how I practiced self-care.
